--SS Jose Reyes missed a fourth straight start Sunday with right calf discomfort. "I'm still feeling something is not right there," Reyes said. "You have to worry. ... I didn't expect it to be that many games. The soreness hasn't gone away yet." After fill-in Alex Cora left in the third inning Sunday with a sprained right thumb, Fernando Tatis was inserted at shortstop in a major-league game for the first time since Sept. 13, 1998.
--RHP Tim Redding is scheduled to come off the disabled list to oppose Randy Wolf in Monday's Mets-Dodgers series opener in Los Angeles. Redding, who opened the season on the disabled list with a rotator cuff strain, made two rehab starts with Class AAA Buffalo. MEDICAL WATCH:
SS Jose Reyes (tight right calf) did not play May 14-17. He is day-to-day.
RHP J.J. Putz (inflamed right elbow) received an injection of anti-inflammatory medication May 14. He returned to pitch May 16.
OF Angel Pagan (arthroscopic right elbow surgery in March 2009) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Buffalo on May 12, and he was activated May 16.
1B Carlos Delgado (right hip impingement) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 11. He might need surgery.
RHP Tim Redding (weak right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He faced hitters in extended spring training on April 25. His made rehab starts for Class AAA Buffalo on May 6 and May 11, and he will be activated May 18.
C Brian Schneider (strained back) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 16. He had a setback because of a calf injury in early May, and he will not resume playing in extended spring training before May 18.
LHP Billy Wagner (Tommy John surgery in September 2008) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He will attempt to throw at the Mets' spring training complex in April, and he hopes to return for the final month of the season.
