
--Class AAA Buffalo, in its first year of a player-development agreement with the Mets, dropped to 2-17 in the International League with a loss in the first game of a doubleheader Friday against Louisville. Game 2 mercifully was rained out. The Bisons have the worst record of any affiliated minor-league team.
--The Marlins plan to complain to Major League Baseball about the Mets' delay before sending PH Omir Santos to the plate with two outs in the ninth inning and the bases loaded Wednesday, Florida manager Fredi Gonzalez said Thursday. Mets manager Jerry Manuel had indicated that the stalling was partly designed to unnerve Marlins closer Matt Lindstrom. It didn't work anyway. Santos popped out and the Mets lost 4-3. BY THE NUMBERS: 23 -- Strikeouts by 3B David Wright in 70 at-bats through Sunday, the most in the National League.
