NEW YORK - They are all going to be like this. They are all going to be roller-coaster rides for the Mets, rising to joy, sinking to despair, every emotion contained in each nine-inning loop-dee-loop. MLB roundup--> - Serby: Burress owes big apology
- WR Hixon to start for Giants
- Mets' Maine back from the DL

The Mets had the leadoff man on in every inning from the fifth to the ninth, and went 2-for-13 with runners in scoring position -- neither hit scoring a run. They had a man reach third with no outs in the seventh, eighth and ninth, but scored just once, when hardly-used journeyman Ramon Martinez drew a bases-loaded walk.
"Man that's bad," Manuel said of the clutch meltdown.
Wright and Ryan Church were the worst offenders. Wright despite his high RBI total has been A-Rod-ian in these situations. Church is slumping badly, but with Fernando Tatis and Damion Easley hurt, Manuel feels he has no place else to go.
That trapped feeling should be familiar by this point to Mets fans. You are on the roller coaster dipping, rising. This is every heart-pounding day now, with matters potentially about to get more twists and turns with inclement weather threatening delays, postponements, potential doubleheaders and games beyond Sunday.
Buckle those safety straps. Nothing ever goes smoothly with this group.
